On August 8th, 2018, Mr. Chen Qun, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, led personnel from Shanghai Sports Bureau, Shanghai Tourism Bureau, and other government departments to investigate in Lin-gang Special Area. Then they conducted investigations on the construction status of Fraunhofer Project Center for Smart Manufacturing at Shanghai Jiao Tong University with Prof. Lin Zhongqin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Mr. Chen Jie, Party Secretary and Executive Deputy Director of the Lin-gang Special Area Administrative Committee, Prof. Du Zhaohui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Mr. Jin Haojun, Chairman of Lin-gang Science and Technology City, kept their company for the investigation.

Mr. Chen Qun and Prof. Lin Zhongqin watched the operation of Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing demonstration line with Sino-German cooperation, and learned the operation of intelligent interactive assembly system, real-time digital twin system, reconfiguration manufacturing system, smart manufacturing service bus, human-machine collaborative robots. They inspected the situation of the development of core technology in the field of smart manufacturing and interacted with on-site technical researchers and staffs.
