The Technical Exchange Workshop was successfully held on 19^th  October by Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Smart Manufacturing at Shanghai Jiao Tong University（FIP-SM@SJTU）. The workshop was held online due to the epidemic and open to members of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and FIP-SM@SJTU.

Ms. Katharina Landgraf from International Business Development Department and Ms. Xuan Katheder from International Cooperation Department of Fraunhofer Headquarter, Munich; Mr. Joachim Seidelmann, German director of FIP-SM@SJTU, Professor Wang Hao, Chinese director of FIP-SM@SJTU, German deputy director Fan Zhi, Chinese deputy director Professor Shen Bin and Mr. David Maximilian
Dorr from Fraunhofer IPA were at presence.

The directors from both sides briefly reported the progress of the FIP-SM@SJTU. Subsequently, Dachuan Shi and Olga Meyer shared their work on smart factories based on game engines, digital twins for industrial robots, asset management shells and interopera. Duan Xuyang, Chen Zhengtao and FU Aoran also introduced their work progresses on cyber physical system, machine vision and digital twin respectively. Researchers from both sides had an in-depth discussion afterward.

At the end of the workshop, the Munich headquarter expressed sincere wishes for the successful cooperation of the Sino-German joint team of FIP-SM@SJTU. The directors of the FIP-SM@SJTU put forward several suggestions to the research team, hoping that researchers from both sides could increase the frequency of communication, target at the forefront of international technological development, and comprehensively improve the scientific research level of FIP-SM@SJTU.
