In July of 2019, Prof. Wang Hao, vice dean of School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, represented the Project Center to attend the annual conference of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) in the UK. During the conference, Prof. Wang had a meeting with Prof. Neugebauer, president of Fraunhofer, and Prof. Treppe, vice president of Fraunhofer, Director Corporate Strategy and International Affairs. At the same time, Prof. Wang Hao also had an in-depth exchange with Prof. Fritz Klocke, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA, and both sides discussed the development and prospects of Fraunhofer Project Center for Smart Manufacturing at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. With his help, Shanghai Platform for Smart Manufacturing Co., Ltd. officially became a corporate partner member of CIRP.
